Succubus Blues Review
I have recently completed this series (up to Book 5 - Succubus Shodows is latest available as of this posting). I don't normally write reviews, but after reading this series, I felt compelled to praise Richelle Mead's excellent writing style and story development. NOTE: this is not a review of the details of each storyline, but rather a comment on why you should read this series. Not only do these books have exceptionally strong character development, but there is adequate, easy-to-understand detail of the urban fantasy world/social structure in which these characters live, and each book beautifully and masterfully entertwines an overarching storyline that the author hints at/builds out in each book and keeps you guessing, making you want to read more. It reminded me of the television series 24 - like the story was written all the way to the end and each book gives you just enough detail to keep you wondering about the end, but you're not quite sure, so you have to keep reading. This makes you impatient for the next book. All of the books in this series kept me entertained, interested and left me wanting more at the end. Also, after reading the series' blogs, RM's books evokes a lot of emotions from her readers - whether you love or hate the characters or have strong opinions of how the books will end. When a series can provoke such a strong response from a reader, it's worth reading!

Succubus Blues Overview
Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.
When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?
But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.
But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...
"What an incredible debut novel! Succubus Blues is exciting, witty, sexy, intriguing and had me captivated from the first page." --Cheyenne McCray, author of Seduced by Magic

This was such a good book. Very Sexy and very Sexual. It is ment for an older audience. This books makes the love scenes in the Twilight Saga seem like childs playing. Very Detailed and a very good book! She is an amazing author.
LOVE THIS SERIES!!! - Demon reader -
I really like Richelle Mead's writing style. This series, as well as the Vampire Academy series (although it is geared to a young adult audience) is simply spectacular! The Eugenie Markham books are my least favorite - although they aren't too bad. I definitely recommend this series if you like paranormal books and want a change from the typical vampire, werewolf stuff.
AMAZING! - R. Mahar - Australia
I only read this book because I was a Vampire Academy fan (another Richelle Mead series). But I was just as impressed with this series. Loved it! Richelle Mead is amazing!
