Infamous Review
I just finished reading Infamous. I will say, that if your really don't like any kind of paranormal at all, in your romance then this book really wasn't for you. And it certainly isn't clear, on the back cover, that the "ghosts in his past" are really ghosts (or spirits as Jamie prefers to be called). That being said, this was pretty mild on the paranormal. Yes the ghost was a huge part of the book but we aren't talking vampires and werewolves here.
Anyway, I really liked the book. It does have the typical Suz sections that you just have to skim but for me, all her books do. I really don't get the comments about this book being anti-war or anti military. There were 4 pages out of 433 that described what AJ went through during the war. Yes, it was uncomfortable and I'm sure there were some factual liberties taken but this is fiction. And it explained why AJ became an alcoholic, homeless etc. And all that played into why the police were so quick to believe the worst of him. Yes, both AJ and Alison's mother were alcoholics but that was important to why Alison didn't want to fall in love with AJ. Yes AJ did go through the alcoholism is a disease thing but it was part of the story line. I come from a family with both alcohol and drug addition issues. I do NOT buy into the current view of addiction and yet I was not troubled by this aspect of the book.
The gay thing was pretty unnecessary. Hugh, the gay assistant who had his heart-broken, really didn't need to be gay or broken-hearted. Neither issue was plot driven in any way. It was just there. But I guess we are all going to have to live with "the plucky gay character" if we want to read Suzanne's books. Hugh, himself, was important to the story. Just not his gayness or his being broken-hearted. My very best friend is gay. I have no problem with gay. I just don't see any reason for this particular character's gayness to be so out there. But then I also guess there was really no reason for us to know Trace was a hound dog. The fact he couldn't keep his pants zipped had absolutely nothing to do with the story either.

Infamous Overview
In her first paperback original in more than six years, New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann delivers an unforgettable novel of contemporary romance and thrilling suspense.
When history professor Alison Carter became a consultant to the film version of the Wild West legend she’d dedicated her career to researching, she couldn’t possibly have known that she would not only get a front-row seat to a full-blown Hollywood circus but would innocently witness something that would put her life in peril. Nor did she expect that a tall stranger in a cowboy hat would turn the movie—and her world—completely upside down.
A. J. Gallagher didn’t crash the set in dusty Arizona to rub elbows with Hollywood’s elite. Unable to ignore ghosts from the past that refuse to stay buried, A. J. came to put an end to the false legend that has tarnished the reputation of his family. But when he confronts Alison, sparks fly. And when Alison is targeted by ruthless criminals, suddenly she and A .J. must face the intense attraction that threatens to consume them—and survive the danger that threatens their very lives.

Soooooooooooo Disappointed - chrismiss56 -
I am such a Suzanne Brockmann fan and I was really surprised how poorly written this book is. Makes me wonder if she even wrote it. The storyline was not well thought out and her signature humor and action was definitely missing.
Won't be rereading this book again. Too bad.........
not up to standard - mamma g - ks
I almost didn't buy this book and now wished I had waited for it to hit the library. I agree with the sentiments of other viewers in regard to the political slant that was infused in this book. When I buy a book it is for the pure escape from my day to day life. While I didn't enjoy it as much as Suzanne's other books it wasn't a total loss. There were moments of entertainment in it. But they were few and far. I would just like to say to all author, singers, actor/actresses, when I pay to be entertained don't blind side me with your political rants. I paid for your entertainment and that is all!
Boring - Susan K - North Carolina, USA
Good grief. This is the most boring book I have ever read. I have had it for weeks and only pick it up when I am totally out of anything to read.
I love most of her books, but come on. Yawn. I do not even care about the characters. I am not even sure I will finish it.
