Loved, Loved this book...I can read it over and over again and not get bored with it. Madelyne is not what I would consider a "strong female" but that doesn't take away from her courage. she is a great contrast to Duncan. the book is funny at moments, and heart breaking in other points. over all is a great read and a must have.

I am surprised by the number of 5 stars review for this book.
I find it a little boring and dragging. And it is especially hard to like a female character that is always sighing (typical garwood) and clumsy. It was only towards the end part that she showed more spunk outwardly.
I have read a number of JG's books, and am getting tired of her typical characters. Females were always sighing, controlled, trying to be a gentle lady. Males were always huge giant, broody, don't talk much and cannot accept fact that they can fall in love and become 'weakened' by it initially.
Once in a while, give us some changes.

I have read over 10 of Julia Garwood books, not one have I not liked. I'm a sucker for romance and this one is a success, a must read!
